In November 2024, Kopi Bali Nusantara had the privilege of participating in the Festival do Café da Indonésia held at UBBO Lisboa, a prominent shopping center in Lisbon, Portugal. This exciting event, organized by the Indonesian Embassy (KBRI), took place from November 7 to 10, and it became a wonderful opportunity for us to introduce the rich and diverse flavors of Indonesian coffee to the Portuguese public and international coffee enthusiasts.
As part of the festival, Kopi Bali Nusantara was honored to present our premium green coffee beans from Bali and Java. The KBRI had prepared several booths for Indonesian coffee producers, and we were excited to share the unique and captivating taste profiles of our coffee with a broader audience. During the four-day event, we served free coffee tastings to the public, allowing visitors to experience firsthand the exceptional quality and distinctive flavors of Indonesian coffee.
Introducing the Rich Flavors of Indonesian Coffee
At the Festival do Café da Indonésia, we had the opportunity to showcase the full range of flavors that make Indonesian coffee so special. From the tropical richness of Bali coffee to the full-bodied, chocolatey notes of Java coffee, we served a variety of brews to give visitors a complete sensory experience. Our coffee was brewed fresh, allowing visitors to appreciate the vibrant aromas and complex flavors that Indonesian coffee is known for.
We were thrilled to see so many coffee lovers and curious visitors flocking to our booth, eager to learn about the story behind each cup. Throughout the festival, we offered a variety of brewing methods, including traditional pour-over and French press, to showcase the versatility and depth of Indonesian coffee beans. Each tasting session was an opportunity for us to educate attendees about the unique terroirs of Bali and Java, as well as the sustainable farming practices we employ to produce some of the finest coffee beans in the world.
Building Awareness and Appreciation for Indonesian Coffee
The Festival do Café da Indonésia was not only a platform for us to promote our coffee but also a chance to raise awareness of the quality and diversity of Indonesian coffee in the European market. As visitors tasted our coffee, many were surprised by the complexity and richness of the flavors, which are often distinct from the more commonly known coffee varieties from other parts of the world. It was an exciting moment for Kopi Bali Nusantara to introduce the true essence of Indonesian coffee and highlight its unique position in the global coffee industry.
Throughout the event, we were able to engage in conversations with coffee enthusiasts, industry professionals, and local businesses. Many visitors expressed interest in learning more about the potential for importing Indonesian coffee into Portugal and other European countries. We were pleased to see the growing interest in sustainable, high-quality coffee and to establish connections that could lead to future partnerships and collaborations in the European market.
Promoting Sustainability and Quality in Coffee Production
In addition to showcasing the flavors of our coffee, we also took the opportunity to highlight the sustainability behind our coffee production. As a family-owned business, Kopi Bali Nusantara is deeply committed to eco-friendly farming practices and supporting local coffee farmers in Bali and Java. We shared our vision of sustainable coffee production, which ensures that the land is preserved for future generations while providing fair wages and support to the farming communities.
Visitors to our booth were able to learn about the entire coffee journey—from seed to cup—and how each stage of production contributes to the final taste experience. By sharing our values and practices, we hoped to inspire greater appreciation for the ethical and sustainable aspects of coffee production and its positive impact on the environment and local communities.
